Recap From A Time Out

OK, so I have been on blogging hiatus. I wrote my last real post on 05/25, the week that I was supposed to have my tooth extraction. That Wednesday 05/28 I was sitting on the couch thinking to myself, ugh when will my period start. The symptoms were all there, bloating, acne, etc. I went to the calendar and counted the days and knew I was in trouble when I hit 29 and realized that the next day would be 30. I am like a clock, 30 was cause for immediate action.

Kris was out at a friend's house so I hauled ass to Walgreen's for a 3 pack of pee sticks. The cashier (young man) made some choice comments about my purchase and asked me if I wanted him to "double bag" the pregnancy test. According to him, lots of girls, although typically younger than me like to have them double bagged to hide from their parents.

Cut to the chase, the pee sticks were positive. Hubby and I were both in shock, we were not actively trying to have a baby (hence the lack of pee sticks in the house) but we had taken a whatever happens, happens approach to birth control (TMI, huh?). I called the dentist the next day and they canceled my extraction. I still have a bum tooth.

The first few weeks of pregnancy I was feeling fine but when I hit 6 weeks, the nausea and morning sickness kicked in. Staying focused at work was difficult. I could not function with the nausea and would have to run the ladies room to chuck in the toilet. At 10 weeks the doctor prescribed me a anti-nausea medicine called Zofran to take when it was too much to bare. Zofran helped but had lovely side effects of its own.

In my second trimester Kris and I took our big trip to Ireland. The pregnancy did not slow me down too much but I definitley had a hard time with stamina and might have had a couple of meltdowns in West Ireland.

Now it's my favorite season, the fall. I am almost 21 weeks along, the nausea/morning sickness MIGHT ACTUALLY BE DONE, I am starting to really show, and we found out that we are having a baby girl. This fall I am taking three classes and am trying to manage my coursework so I do not go crazy. I am tired but managing. Kris has been amazing.

Sorry this post was kinda lame, I will try and keep up from now on.
